2007 Geneva new LUV, EDAG's

Conceived as a niche vehicle, the LUV presents a maritime appearance from its bows to its stern, and is targeted at customers who are not looking for just an ordinary car, and who appreciate something more distinctive.
Oiled teak on the bonnet, inside as the floor covering , and again on the elegant loading plat-form, gives a nautical flair.
The dimensions of the “EDAG LUV” are also imposing. Taking as their basis a high end SUV, the EDAG Engineering + Design AG designers and engineers have constructed an LUV with an impressive overall length of 5.70 metres. Over 2 metres wide and 1.80 metres high, the “EDAG LUV” is a real eye-catcher.

More detailed Total Cost to Own information is provided at the yearly level (years 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 after purchase) on Yahoo Autos' trim and car comparison pages. The Total Cost to Own uses numerous data elements to calculate the typical price a consumer pays to own the vehicle in a specific market (such as Texas, California, Florida, etc). Included in the Total Cost To Own price are projected depreciation costs, fees and taxes, financing costs, fuel costs, insurance costs, maintenance costs, repair costs, and opportunity costs. Lincoln Town Car BPS

The new Lincoln Town Car BPS will look very much llike the standard model pictured here, which security experts say is the whole idea.

It's the kind of thing you see in a James Bond movie: a bullet proof car weaving it’s way through a barrage of bullets. In the movies, Bond and his car always escape with barely a scratch. In real life, when cars and trucks are fired on, it’s a much different story. Which helps explain why more and more people are driving bullet proof cars and trucks

2007 Dodge Nitro

2007 Dodge Nitro SUV

Chrysler unveils 2007 Dodge Nitro

The first mid-size sport-utility vehicle from the Dodge brand."The Dodge Nitro's styling delivers something extra; that little something mid-size buyers are still searching for — attitude," said George Murphy, Senior Vice President - Global Marketing. "In addition, the Dodge Nitro offers many features that are not typical of a mid-size SUV, such as two V-6 engines, 20-inch tires and chrome-clad aluminum wheels and a performance suspension." Engine choices include V6 engines at 210 and 255-horsepower.

Three models are available: Dodge Nitro, Dodge Nitro SLT and Dodge Nitro R/T. Available on the Dodge Nitro and Dodge Nitro SLT is a 3.7-liter SOHC V-6 engine. It produces 210 hp (157 kW) @ 5,200 rpm and 235 lb.-ft. (319 Nm) @ 4,000 rpm. The Dodge Nitro R/T features a new 4.0-liter V-6 engine that delivers 255 hp (190 kW) @ 5,800 rpm and 275 lb.-ft. torque (360 Nm) @ 4,000 rpm. Standard on the Dodge Nitro R/T and optional on the Nitro SLT is a new performance suspension and 20-inch tires and chrome-clad aluminum wheels, providing performance-oriented drivers with fun-to-drive handling and a firm ride.

Being the first mid-size SUV for the brand, Dodge Nitro had to personify the bold, powerful and street-smart attitude of Dodge," said Murphy. "In a world of mostly bland SUVs, the 2007 Dodge Nitro has the design, engineering and performance to inspire consumers and ignite the mid-size SUV market."

Dodge’s first midsize SUV is a noticeable improvement over anything else in the Chrysler group’s portfolio in this segment. The Nitro features nice interior touches, a user-friendly cargo area and a tough look in a very crowded segment. After a short test around suburbia, I was impressed with the ride and handling, even if the brakes weren’t up to par.

BMW 130i M Sport

BMW’s marketing men make much of the fact that the 1-series is the only rear-drive car in its class and, as its most powerful member, it is the 130i that stands to gain most from that configuration. But the truth is that for almost all people in almost all conditions on almost all roads, the only real difference it makes is to reduce room in the rear cabin. The rest of the time, when BMW has wheeled out a new M car I have been struck by the depth and breadth of its engineering excellence and the passion with which it has so clearly been created.
Instead the 1-series merely took me from place to place in an efficient but rather charmless and none too relaxing way. I never felt involved in the driving experience and pushed it hard not because that was what it inspired me to do but simply out of professional curiosity.

If you can live with its looks and don’t need the room in the rear, the 130i — with or without its M Sport addendum — makes a case for itself, not least because there’s nothing else quite like it out there. And among those looking for a diminutive hot-rod with some swanky badging from a coveted brand, it will doubtless find favour. But for those who have come to expect BMW to deliver a complete package — a car as good to own as to drive, one capable of both thrilling and cosseting its driver — the 130i falls short of the mark.

2007 Ford Interceptor Concept

Interceptor Concept: Celebrating Modern American Muscle

This concept celebrates the best of American muscle, showing customers what ‘modern muscle’ is all about,” said Peter Horbury, executive director – Design, The Americas. “The Interceptor concept is much like a Marine in dress uniform. He looks smart and elegant but you can see the raw power that lies beneath.

The Ford Interceptor concept comes equipped with a manual six-speed gearbox mated to a Ford Racing 5.0-liter V-8 Cammer engine that delivers 400 horsepower and runs on E-85 ethanol.

The Interceptor concept is a sedan – but with the heart and soul of a performance car,“ Thomas said. “This car is about restraint – and not clouding the driving experience with too much technology. There aren’t a lot of layers between the driver and the road with this car.

2007 Jaguar C-XF Concept

The C-XF Signals a New Era for Jaguar

The C-XF concept car is a stunning, four-door sports saloon which indicates a design direction of the next generations of Jaguars. It blends design purity with unmistakable dynamism and is a clear indication of the design direction that the next generations of Jaguar saloons will take.

Set into the front of the C-XF is a bold and aggressive grille finished in black chrome. Recessed deeply into the body rather than sitting flush with the surface, the visual effect is similar to that of an air intake on a jet engine and serves as a reminder that directly behind is a sophisticated and powerful 4.2-litre supercharged V8 engine.

The headlamps which evolve the twin-lamp motif seen on previous Jaguars into a single slim wedge, are narrow and angular. They bring an air of aggression to the C-XF’s profile, while between the lamps a blue streak of light reveals an almost cat-like iris when illuminated. Subtly etched below the lenses is a unique ‘tattoo’ design showing an abstract Jaguar leaper logo – a tattoo that is repeated in the treadplates of the door sills and in the tread of the bespoke Pirelli tires that surround the 21-inch machined, polished aluminum wheels.

Running backwards from the nose of the C-XF is the main feature line of the car – an unbroken shoulder that flows beneath the cabin glassline and into the haunch over the rear wheel. It is this feature, a modern interpretation of renowned Jaguar sports saloons from history, that endows C-XF with its latent power. A similarly simple line can also be seen on the new XK range and is one of the design cues that will carry forward onto the next generation of Jaguars.

Interior Design

Design Director Ian Callum describes the cabin of the C-XF concept car as “one of the most exciting interiors Jaguar has ever done”. One glimpse of the inside of the four-seater is enough to understand why Callum has this view.

Between the seats runs a tall central transmission tunnel that gives the occupants a sense of sitting deep within a futuristic cockpit. One of the keys to any Jaguar interior is that occupants should feel as if they are enclosed in the car, not sitting on it. The C-XF’s interior cossets in just such a way, creating an inviting cabin for passengers to slip into, rather than surrounding them with bland, open space.

The focal point of the interior is a sweeping brushed aluminum facia that wraps around the cabin in a dynamic linear graphic that instills a sense of velocity. The counterpoint to the aluminum is a combination of leather and wood that takes detail of finish to a new level.
